Grand Canyon Lodging

When visit the Grand Canyon there are a few diferenct options for lodging. There is lodging at the Grand Canyon that is very base and the hotels do not have air conditioning, the hotels are typically two star hotels. Oustide of the Grand Canyon is Tusayan that only seven miles away also with the typically lodging or two start hotels and motes, but you will find air conditioning. For nicer accomadations you will need ot head south to Willams that has two and three star hotes or for the nicest hotels you will need to coninue south to Flagstaff for the mostly three star hotels.

Although the Grand Canyon boasts 2000 total hotel guests they all book up quickly! When staying at the Grand Canyon the best thing to do is book your reservation early. The Grand Canyon Lodging hosts a wide variety of hotel rooms to meet any budget. Reservations for hotel rooms within the park are made through Xantera Parks & Resorts by calling 303-297-2757 or 888-297-2757 or write to Xanterra Parks & Resorts, 14001 E. Illiff, Ste. 600, Aurora, CO 80014. You can also make reservations on-line at www.grandcanyonlodges.com. None of the hotels inside the park have air conditioning. The cabins or dormitories at the Phantom Ranch (located in the inner canyon) can be reserved also by contacting Xanterra Parks and Resorts. The Phantom Ranch can be reached either by foot or mule. Advanced reservations are required for meals and lodging and can be booked up to 23 months ahead of time.

If staying outside the park is something you would prefer to avoid the crowds one place to stay is Tusayan. Tusayan is about 7 miles south of the Grand Canyon.

Many guests to the Grand Canyon prefer to stay in Flagstaff Arizona due to the challenges of booking reservations at the Grand Canyon -- and because there are few to no nice hotel rooms to be had nearer to the Grand Canyon.
